Overview

The aim of the 2 days is to raise awareness and develop skills in all aspects of the research process, from turning an idea about a project into a formal research proposal, to finding and appraising already published research.  By the end of day 1 participants will have the necessary skills to select appropriate and relevant resources, develop an awareness of electronic publications and critically appraise research evidence about effectiveness in order to promote evidence-based practice; using 10 key questions in an appraisal tool from the NHS approved CASP (Critical Appraisal Skills Programme).  Day 2 will focus on a short session on statistics, developing proposals for primary research and finding funding for such proposals.
