The Leeds Clinical Practice Centres

About > Our Facilities > The Leeds Clinical Practice Centres

Our Clinical Practice Centres are based in the city centre of Leeds and are split across our two largest sites – St James’s University Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary. The Leeds Clinical Practice Centres are multi-professional education centres, providing clinical skills education and training to healthcare professionals.

Each centre is equipped with a range of teaching and learning facilities enabling the delivery of a broad spectrum of educational experiences, ranging from part task skills teaching through to team working and communication skills in simulated clinical environments.

The Clinical Practice Centre based within the Ashley Wing at St James’s University Hospital is the larger of the two centres and is a shared facility with the University of Leeds. It boasts ten dedicated training rooms – each equipped with wash hand basins, data projectors, white boards, flips charts and cameras. In addition to these rooms the centre also provides two observation rooms with viewing/ control room and a 4 bedded simulated ward.

The Clinical Practice Centre, formerly known as the Postgraduate Centre, based within Littlewood Hall at the Leeds General Infirmary offers an 80 seat lecture theatre, with video conferencing facilities, a large flexible teaching space, a seminar room and a simulated trauma bay.
