The Leeds Clinical Practice Centre at The General Infirmary, Leeds (LCPC SJUH) is a multi-professional education centre providing clinical skills education and training to Health Care Providers across Leeds. The Centre offers the opportunity to work with education staff to design, develop and deliver education and training encompassing cognitive, technical and non-technical skills

The centre is equipped with a range of teaching and learning facilities enabling the delivery of a broad spectrum of educational experiences, ranging from part task skills teaching for venepuncture and catheterisation through to team working and communication skills in simulated clinical environments utilising low to high fidelity manikins. Designated observation and viewing rooms including a domestic living space facilitate observation, recording and analysis of simulated practice. In addition, recordings can be made from each skills training room to enhance reflection and learning through debrief.

CPC Facilities

LCPC SJUH provides facilities and facilitators to enable the delivery of quality clinical education and training to healthcare students and professionals working in both acute and community setting - at undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing professional levels.

  • 1 seminar room
  • 2 observation rooms with viewing/control room
  • 4 bedded simulated ward
  • 1 skills/seminar room with treatment room including scrub sink

All training rooms are equpped with wash hand basins, data projectors, white boards, flips charts and cameras. The ground floor communal area has drinks vending machines and provides refreshment space for students and visitors.

Shared Areas

  • Waiting area. Reception facilities will be provided by CPC staff
  • Lockers are available for students and visitors

Visiting training instructors will also have the use of:

  • Two "hot desk" rooms with internet access (subject to availability and by prior arrangement with CPC administration staff)
  • Staff beverage/rest area
