Advanced Trauma Life Support (Instructor)
he ATLS programme teaches a simple systematic approach to the management of trauma patients through interactive tutorials, skills teaching and simulated patient management scenarios. The ATLS® course was developed by the American College of Surgeons and has now been adopted in over 60 countries worldwide. The aim of this ATLS Instructor course is to train ATLS Instructors in order to maintain a thriving and active ATLS programme. ATLS student status lapses after four years, and it is recommended that this be renewed within six months of the date of expiry. The ATLS Reverification course is aimed at doctors who have been involved in trauma care since completing their provider course and who wish to be updated on developments in major trauma management. On completion of the one day course doctors will be reverified for a further four years. Please DO NOT book a place on this course without first completing the relevant application form.
