|Key Benefits, Format & Learning Outcomes:||The course is aimed at the way in which the Major Trauma Team works when caring for a patient with significant injuries. The interest is less on the clinical management of the patient and more on the processes and concepts involved in the initial care of the major trauma patient
Candidates are divided into two teams to work through four scenarios. Each case starts with a pre-alert allowing the team to prepare. The patient (who may be SimMan or an actor) will then be delivered. The scenario ends when a definitive management plan has been established
Whilst one team is working hard, the other will be watching via video link and will be expected to provide constructive feedback in the debrief.
