An Introduction to Quality Improvement training course has recently been set up in Leeds. This consists of 5 sessions, the first lasting for an hour, and subsequent sessions lasting for 30 mins (with further time for questions at the end). The Improvement Academy run a series of one day Quality Improvement training courses in the region. You must complete a short e-learning course before you attend. Dates are available here (a range of courses are listed. Many others may be of interest, but the quality improvement course is entitled “Silver Quality Improvement Training Day”.)
The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) have a wealth of quality improvement training materials. Trainees are also able to access e-learning materials in quality improvement and patient safety for free which provides you with an IHI basic certificate in quality and safety.
The Royal College of Physicians has produced a Learning to Make A Difference toolkit which gives a guide as to how to trainees may complete a quality improvement project. This is best supplemented with the resources above
