Ward 12 is the home of the Children’s Liver and GI Unit and is co-located with the renal unit. . The gastroenterology service, sees children referred from both primary and secondary care. The liver service is one of 3 designated supra-regional paediatric liver units in the UK, (with Kings in London and Birmingham), and cares for children with a wide range of liver disorders, including fulminant hepatic failure and children requiring liver transplantation. The ward has 11 liver and 5 gastro beds and provides both medical and surgical care. |
