At Medical Education Leeds, our teams work collaboratively to deliver ambitious education programmes to healthcare professionals worldwide.
Our undergraduate coordinators work closely with the school of medicine at the University of Leeds to coordinate clinical placements and organise practice and summative OSCE exams, ensuring medical students feel supported and have access to a wealth of clinical experiences and opportunities during their training here.
Undergraduate clinical teachers:
With a background in cardiac ITU and pre-hospital emergency medicine, our clinical teachers have more than 40 years clinical experience between them. In addition to delivering small group teachings and RRAPID simulation based scenarios, our clinical teachers offer an open door policy to support students in their learning.
Our foundation coordinators support trainees in their first two years of professional practice, guiding and supporting trainees from their first day as a doctor, through foundation years one and two and onwards as they progress to speciality training. As part of this role, our coordinators organise inductions, teaching/training days and support trainees with any ePortfolio queries.
Our schools team provide administrative support for the various training programmes, or ‘schools’ within Health Education Yorkshire and Humber. These schools include Core Medical Training, Emergency Medicine, General Practice and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Courses, skills and simulation team
Our courses, skills and simulation coordinators and technicians work closely with course leaders and multi-professional clinicians to support the delivery of our blended and technology enhanced approach to learning.
Finance and study leave teams
Doctors undertaking our training programmes will have to book study leave prior to enrolling on courses. Our team liaises across departments to ensure appropriate cover is provided for all learners.
Our libraries team help colleagues to gain access to information and resources to effectively support clinical practice, patient care and service management.
Technology enhanced learning team
Our technology enhanced learning team work across all of the teams to design and develop innovative multimedia learning resources and provide a pathway to an excellent learner journey. The team also manages and maintains the Mel-learn virtual learning environment (VLE).
