Synopsis: This half day course aims to provide trainees with the knowledge and skills in order to safely prepare for and insert Central Venous Catheters. You will be given the opportunity to practice catheter insertion in a safe environment whilst being supervised by experienced faculty members.

 The aim of this short course is to provide trainees with the knowledge and skills in order to safely prepare for and insert Central Venous Catheters.

The programme includes:

  • Indications & Device Selection
  • Infection Control & CVC Related Infections
  • Insertion Complications
  • Post-Insertion Care
  • Demonstration
  • The opportunity to practice catheter insertion on a clinical skills manikin, whilst being supervised by experienced faculty members

Additional Information In order to make the most of this half day course it is mandatory that you review and complete the pre-course materials on our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Login details for the VLE will be forwarded to you approx. two weeks prior to the course by the course administrator.

Once you have attended the course you will need to complete the post-course materials in order to request a DOP and download your attendance certificate.

The course slides will be available for you to view once the course has been completed.
Cancellation Policy IMPORTANT INFORMATION - CANCELLATION POLICY
In the event you need to cancel your place on this course, the following terms and conditions apply:

  • If you have notified us at least 30 days prior to the commencement date of the course, your course fees will be returned minus a £10.00 administration fee. If you have received any course materials these must be returned prior to any refund.
  • Cancellation of your place within 30 days will result in a loss of all fees. However, if there is another course available, you may be able to transfer, but an additional £10.00 administration fee will be incurred.
