Doctors’ Mess Official Opening

Doctors at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust have received a welcome boost following the opening of a new doctors’ Mess at St James’s University Hospital.

Officially opened by the Trust’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr Yvette Oade, the new facility on Level 4 in Gledhow wing provides doctors with a place to meet, share information and socialise. The Mess has a range of amenities including basic cooking facilities, an area for relaxation and a quiet study space equipped with computers.

Working closely with Mess Co-Presidents, doctors Sophie Earle and Josh Nwanazia and the Mess committee, Medical Education Leeds played a pivotal role in getting this venture up and running and it’s hoped the new Mess will help create the best possible working and training environment for our doctors.
