Year 2 forms part of phase 1 'Preparing for Clinical Practice' as stated in the MBChB curriculum guide.
At the start of January in your second year you will start undertaking 'Patient Evaluation: essential Clinical Skills and Laboratory Science within the Hospital'. Through this practical process you will learn to:
- Take a history and examine a patient in a professional, competent manner
- Use your knowledge of clinical laboratory science to understand the investigation of patients with common conditions and diseases
- Integrate clinical skills and knowledge to formulate basic differential diagnosis and management plans
- Understand basic therapeutic principles, both medical and surgical and understand their role in the treatment of common conditions
