Video Conferencing55% of communication is determined by non verbal cues - The most important being facial expression and body language. Many of these important non verbal details get lost everyday in e-mail exchanges (notorious for being misinterpreted) or telephone conferences (where tone of voice may belie the real expression need). Face to face communication is always more personal, builds a higher level of trust, reduces confusion and makes people more aware of their manner and delivery of information. In the 21st century, time constraints and ease of electronic communication very often negates the need for attendance in person at a meeting or conference, sometimes if the meeting is miles or even continents away, then attendance in person would be impossible (financially or in time availability). |
