Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Medical Education Centres
The Medical Education Department, comprising 15 members of staff, located at Leeds General Infirmary and St James's University Hospital, oversees the education and assessment of medical students and doctors in training and facilitates the continuing professional development of career grade staff, following guidelines laid out by PMETB (Postgraduate Medical Education Training Board). We provide an induction to all new Junior Doctors in the Trust and ensure they are competent to practice. Doctors are reviewed regularly to assess how they are progressing, and where problems are identified, structured training programmes and remedial support can be tailored to meet the needs of the individual doctor.
